savor your local food system

We invite you to join us in forging a creative new reform of our food system while savoring the best that nature can offer. We thrive upon a foundation of transparency and open communication, and pledge to provide delicious products that contribute to the health of our environment as well as to the future of our world, one plate at a time.

Directly from our ranch you can stop by and purchase directly from our farm shop.

We offer all of what our seasons have to offer:

Grassland fed and finished beef and lamb, pastured eggs and farm fresh produce

Our meats are USDA inspected, vacuum sealed, frozen inventory to keep you well nourished and healthy.

If you are looking for a cow share or lamb share look below!

an ode to the environment

We do not ship due to the carbon foot print and the packaging materials necessary for shipping.  We also want you to support your local producers when possible. If you purchase a half or whole share we offer delivery but recommend you visit us here at the ranch for pickup, and stay for a day to get to know us. We’re a pretty fun bunch!

BIG NEWS

This year Taylor Black has taken over the majority of the Grazing operation and Meat enterprise from True Grass Farms and has started her own label WOW Grasslands,  short for Web of Wonders Grasslands. An enthusiastic nod to the wow factor of grassland ecology, prevailing biodiversity, and our connection to our environment, one another, and what nourishes us. Taylor will be your main contact for any future purchases. If you are looking for a cow share or lamb share look no further and purchase directly through her website below.

Cow share

Cow%2BCuts.jpg

Join us in building a new and more sustainable culinary communion between friends, families and farmers. Through this unique experience, individuals come together for a “cow share” – to purchase ecologically mindful, carbon neutral, grassland-finished beef.

We cultivate relationships between food and the ecosystem, farmers and our local community. That’s why every cow share includes an invitation to the ranch here in Marin County where you’ll see the pastures and meet us farmers who are happy to explain our sustainable practices.

No matter how small your freezer or how big your table there is a share to fit all appetites. Please view all of our options below, and start thinking about how you will be divvying up that share with your sister, co-workers or neighbor.

We manage our sheep for fire mitigation and ecological outcome goals in the greater Petaluma area.

We raise Kathadin and dorper hair sheep. These breeds are slower growing than most other breeds, but they are quite resilient and well fitted to the environment here.

They select their flocks for resiliency and flavor, lamb is a seasonal product with Spring and Summer being peak season.
